Manjung District Council was established in 1980 with the merge of various local government administration boards (LGAB). MMC jurisdiction areas are divided into :-Total Area/Jurisdiction (301.82 square km), Operation Area (180.47 square km) and Control/Regulation Area (121.35 square km) in contrast to the overall jurisdiction of Manjung District that is 1276km.
