Cameron Highlands District Council was established by the Pahang State Government Gazette No. 66 on March 1, 1982 with an area when it is 55.0087 square kilometers and is divided into two (2) categories: -i) The area subject to tax – 31 812 km.p and ii) The area is not subject to tax – 23 725 km.p. For the expansion of new areas of Cameron Highlands District Council proposed area is 275.36 km.p (about 72,000 hectares) with a population of 35.075 people.
