Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN), formerly known as the Pusat Latihan Belia was introduced by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 1964. The initial goal is to tackle unemployment by offering skills training programs among youth dropouts. In the early 1990s, the training program been extended to human resource development, ie training youth in the field of technical and vocational skills to produce skilled manpower for the needs of the country’s industrial sector.
